We have been commissioned by the National Business Travel Network (NBTN), which is run by the Department for Transport (DfT), to review best practice in behavioural change initiatives and travel planning across a number of organisations in the private sector. CB have been working with a range of large organisations across the UK to build up a picture of their successes and hold these businesses up as examples of best practice which can be promoted to the wider business community through the NBTN website.
Through this project NBTN hopes to promote the successful initiatives undertaken by the organisations participating in order to show the range of benefits to both staff and the organisation as a whole. Key to the project is demonstrating how a clear modal shift from car travel has been achieved, along with other environmental and corporate social responsibility benefits.
15 FTSE 350 organisations have been shortlisted and cover the telecommunications, pharmaceutical, retail and manufacturing industries. The examples highlight how travel plan projects can be integrated within other corporate programmes and projects, forming a key element of future business planning. The case studies will also help other FTSE 350 companies to adopt similar practices.
