Islington Infrastructure Study

Colin Buchanan (CB) in association with Capita Symonds, and RMJM, has been commissioned by the London Borough of Islington to advise on the infrastructure required to deliver the Local Development Framework Core Strategy.

The study will form part of the evidence base informing the Core Strategy, and will provide an indication of the potential costs and associated funding sources for infrastructure delivery. The work builds upon the Central London Infrastructure Study, completed earlier this year which looked at strategic infrastructure requirements to investigate borough wide infrastructure requirements in greater detail.

The CB-led team will be liaising directly with a wide range of infrastructure and service providers to establish future needs and delivery mechanisms, including identifying the potential implications of the introduction of a Community Infrastructure Levy for the use of developer contributions.

This study builds upon similar work CB has recently undertaken for a number of local authorities including Surrey County Council and Stafford Borough Council.
