Local Delivery of Health, well-being and social care objectives from a spatial perspective
Colin Buchanan, in association with rmjm consulting, has been jointly appointed by the Department of Health and Communities and Local Government to undertake a study to investigate the extent to which the Government's health, wellbeing and social care objectives are being delivered locally, from a spatial perspective. The focus of the work will be to ascertain how effectively Government’s objectives are being translated into regional and local plans and strategies and outcomes on the ground, and identify barriers to their implementation. The study will recommend actions that could be taken to improve local delivery and evaluate their effectiveness.
John Pounder, study director for CB, said 'this is a particularly interesting piece of work that will help Government to understand how its objectives can be delivered more effectively and how critical strong working relationships between planners and public health and social care professionals are to successful delivery'.
