Colin Buchanan has been appointed by Abbey Waterside Developments to provide transportation, highways and sustainable access advice for their proposed development in Alperton.
The site, falling within the London Borough of Brent, comprises of 1.8 hectares of industrial land and is currently the site of a number of industrial units. Colin Buchanan is working closely with PTEa architects to redevelop the site to accommodate a residential-led, mixed-use development of between 400-500 units and some 4,000sqm of commercial floor space. The development proposals aim to provide significant enhancement to alternative modes of travel and maximise the sites location on the bank of the Grand Union Canal. Utilising the canal as a means of transport will be a significant advantage in reducing construction traffic to the site. Once built, the tow path will form an important cycle and walking link to the wider area.
