Stoke-on-Trent City Council has appointed Colin Buchanan to prepare its City Centre Car Park Strategy.
In line with the desire for the city centre to be a destination of choice for people to live, work, shop and unwind, the right parking strategy is seen as one important aspect to help achieve these objectives. The study will be looking at how to achieve best practice for existing operations as well as how it will need to develop to meet future parking needs.
Councillor Brian Ward, Stoke-on-Trent City Council cabinet member in charge of parking, said: “The scope of the study is wide ranging and Colin Buchanan were selected for proposing a project team comprising parking, economics, finance and commercial experience as well as demonstrating an innovative approach towards parking”.
